A Chinese export porcelain blue and white covered butter tub on stand


A Chinese export underglaze blue butter tub with cover and stand, dating from the end of the 18th century. The centre of the stand and the sides of the dish are decorated with figures in a landscape with pavilions and trees around a lake. The border of the stand and the lid are decorated with an elaborate stylised flowerhead and diaper pattern design. Width of stand 15.9 cm (6.3″). height including cover 9.5 cm (3.7″).

Dating: late Qianlong to Jiaqing c 1780 – 1800.

Product Condition: The butter dish, cover and stand are all in very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is a small amount of glaze fritting to the rim of the stand and the cover, and some glaze pitting inside the dish caused during firing.
