A Fine Yongzheng or Very Early Qianlong Famille Rose Plate
Note – Please email me before ordering to ensure this item is in stock – thanks!
Offered is a fine antique Chinese Famille Rose porcelain plate for the export market, measuring about 22 cm across and weighing about 376 grams. The gilt border, the red lingzhi fungi or floral decoration to the reverse, and the thick, oily enamels to the front all tend to suggest a Yongzheng (1723-35) origin, and the red overglaze enamel decoration like this to the reverse seems to happen only very rarely after about 1740. As such, this piece appears to date to the Yongzheng or very early Qianlong periods. This piece is in excellent condition, with no hairlines, chips of note or repairs. All in all a fine example of this form and style!
