Description
A well-molded and colorful figure of a beauty standing on a plinth with a lotus stem in hand with considerable age. The glazes on the figure are thick and smooth feeling. The glaze on the stand is thinner and runnier. The face has deep detailing, especially around the earrings and hat. The foot on the base is not glazed. The unglazed base is indented with a hole for firing. There is a hole on the back of the head for firing as well.
MEASUREMENTS
8 7/8” (22.5 cm) tall x 2 ¼” (5.7 cm) wide x 1 7/8” (4.8 cm) deep. Weighs 10.6 oz (305 g)
CONDITION
The head was broken and repaired. There is a small chip on the corner of the front stand base and a small chip on her hat. The glazes are still fresh and bright.
An old figurine of a Chinese beauty to add to a collection or display with a nice touch of color.
