Dimensions: 26.4 cm × 4,5 cm Weight 596g 

A fine Japanese porcelain large plate or charger, delicately handpainted in polychrome enamels with decoration of pheasant in landscape standing on a pierced blue rock surrounded by red and white peonies. The wide rim painted in cartouches with landscapes, floral patterns and butterflies  Decorated to the reverse with five bats in iron red

Marked on the bottom ‘Hichōzan Shinpo sei’ 肥蝶山信甫製 in six characters.

From the Meiji period (1868-1912) 

Condition: Overall very good, one small flake to the reverse of the rim, no other damages or repairs (see pictures). Sold without stand
