Grey earthenware coated with white slip and remains of original cream white, green, dark red, orange and red pigments.
The rider, with a determined expression and a well-defined muscular face, probably depicting a foreigner, seated astride a horse with head reined in and to the side. The man rider with his head turned to the side and hands positioned to hold the reins, the hair dressed in a helmet-like coif pulled up into a pouf in front. With traces of white, red, black and pink pigments throughout.
From the Tang Dynasty (618-907)
The results of thermoluminescence tests Laboratory Kotalla are consistent with the dating of this object. Test results will be provided to the buyer
A Certificate of Authenticity from Becker Antiques (specialist in Chinese Art since 1969, Amsterdam) will accompany the item.
